I have the G3100 router with Cat 6 cables running to the router from the ONT and to my devices. Just a warning, this post will be a bit long. My tests were inconclusive and I have no idea what else to do. ![]() I ran multiple tests to rule out the cables, router, and ONT. My phone, tablet, and laptop all have speed issues on ethernet. The only devices on ethernet that are working are my ps5 and maybe the TV. TLDR: My ethernet speeds seem to be throttled but my wifi speeds are fine. ![]() Questions about Verizon Wireless can be directed to: Verizon Customer Financial Services at 1-80įor issues with Fiber being potentially broken or if repairs need to be initiated:.These questions can be directed to:Īny questions regarding refunds of payments, accounts in collections, or credits owed from a closed account can be directed to: A package that one person has is not always available to everyone else. The best solution is if you're lucky enough to reside in a city with Municipal broadband, otherwise you will be under the influence of predatory ISPs as there are virtually NO real regulatory restrictions from under-the-table throttling, price gouging and other unsavory business practices, like 80% of US corporations are guilty of.DO Report any spam you find, to the moderators.ĭO Search for duplicate entries before posting redundant threads.ĭO NOT post any personal confidential information.ĭO NOT downvote an otherwise acceptable post or comment, just because you disagree with it. If you doubt it, simply use a Starbucks google gigabyte connection for comparison to ATT's "alleged" gigabyte connection, the main reason I even have the gigabyte tier is due to it being unlimited, otherwise you'll quickly burn through their paultry data-cap with a 50-80Mbps connection, (The "GigaPower" 900 Mbps connection would take a day with the same data caps) and they know it! **(Servers that are used with game launchers, and certain sites that are usually in Seattle, Poland, and Australia as I live in the southeastern US.) Yep, they do indeed throttle, as I also use VPNs and I've had increases from 2Mbps to 12Mbps within the same downloads, it's VERY rare that I get a **28-40Mbps download via the normal non-VPN connection, you know, the speed I pay for! They were not as fast but much more reliable. I love the speedy service during the work day but the aggravation of an upset teenager and family makes me ready to pay higher fees to unbundle my services and go back to Comcast. I hate to blame AT&T if it isn't their fault and I have not way of determining if I am being throttled during peak times. Of course, the caching issue doesn't occur when he was here, but did kick in about 45 minutes after he left. I have had an AT&T technician come out and check our equipment and everything is working as it should. He is certain that AT&T is throttling us and what makes it seem worse is that it always seems to occur at peak times and on the weekends. As soon as he tries, all of our computers experience caching timeouts and then we all get very frustrated. Every day for the last few weeks he tries to play Destiny online usually while I am still streaming and working away. My problems start when my son gets home from school and wants to play games on his PC in the late afternoons. I have never had a problem during the day with any sort of WIFI disruption or caching issue. On the days I work from home, I have no problems streaming different websites on my personal laptop while working on my Surface Pro. I use two laptops both running on 5.0, my son has a gamer PC running on 5.0, and we have several other Apple and PC devices running on both 2.4 and 5.0. ![]() My family lives in Franklin, TN and use an AT&T provided modem / router for our Gigapower service.
